Plumbing Supplies for Your Mobile Home
Posted on: 28 August 2017
As a mobile home owner, you know the importance of having the right replacement parts and pieces if something should go wrong. You also know that some mobile home parts are not interchangeable with traditional homes or plumbing supplies. If you are trying to prepare for a potential issue with your plumbing, by having certain supplies on hand, then you may want to consider the following items.
Replacement Kitchen Faucet Hose and Attachments
One of the items in mobile homes that seems to breakdown and leak the quickest for most homeowners is the kitchen faucet hose. This is especially true if you are using a hose system that is attached directly to your water faucet. The hose can become frayed with extended pulling and use, causing a higher potential of leaks to occur. By having a replacement hose, the connectors and the sealants on hand, you can make a quick trade out of the old hose for the new one and prevent further leaks and water damage from occurring.
All Purpose Cement
Having an all purpose cement is vital for most of your plumbing needs. This cement is used for a variety of issues and repairs. It is primarily used as a seal for the three most common forms of mobile home plumbing. These include PVC core pipe, CPVC and ABS. It can be used directly on the pipe, connectors and fittings as well. Though different manufacturers have differing curing times for this cement, most will cure within a few hours, allowing you to get back to your normal plumbing use.
PVC Pipe Cutter
There may be times that you will need to cut pipe to fit a certain area. This may be due to a change in the plumbing layout or to having only one length of pipe that is too large for the area. If you have a PVC pipe cutter in your plumbing supplies, you will be able to cut the pipe to fit and continue with the repair without costly trips to the home improvement store or special orders if the size is not available.
By having these plumbing supplies on hand for your mobile home and potential repair issues, you can be better prepared if something should happen. Remember, these are only a few of the items, so make sure to note when an incident happens what items you were lacking and add those to your plumbing supplies list.
